Bottle from the Village Grocer, Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is grainy malt, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light, crisp, cardboard malt, woody, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Refreshing on a hot day, but that’s about it.

Can from Cold Storage, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy, long-lasting light tan head. The aroma is sweet malts, aromatic spices, ginger, and lemongrass. The flavour is moderate sweet with a dry malt, light roasty, iqourice, spicy lemongrass palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. I didn’t mind this too much I have to say. Not the worst beer I’ve had from this part of the world.

Bottle at FCC Bar (Siem Reap International Airport), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is lightly metallic, with light toasted malt, and some heart oats. Flavour is similar, with toasted malt, very light hops, some oats, and a light metallic tinge. Light bodied but decently balanced. Solid.

33cl can from Antarabangsa, Penang I haven’t got a glass so I’ll have to d the best I can. Clear deep amber pour. Quite herbal in the aftertaste but not overpowering. I’ll stick to the foreign stout.
