Description
Beavertown was founded in 2011 by Logan Plant, the son of Robert Plant, singer with Led Zeppelin. At first established as a brewpub in De Beauvoir Town, East London as part art of the Duke's Brew and Que experience. Expanding means moving! In 2012 to Hackney Wick and in 2014 to Tottenham Hale.
In June 2018, it was announced that Heineken would be buying a minority stake, so that Beavertown could spend £40 million on a new brewery and visitor site. The new brewery was launched in 2020, with a capacity of 500,000 hectolitres, a ten-fold increase in their previous capacity.
As of 7 September 2022 Heineken has taken complete control of Beavertown and now has 100 per cent ownership. Founder Logan Plant will stay on as an adviser.

Bottle at home 27th August 2012. Last of the range, my favourite being the 8 Ball, this is a fairly simple brew, nice taste malts remind me of an amber ale, nice easy drinking, nothing special though.

Cask at Dukes B&Q, Haggerston - 20/04/12. Off-black brown with a thin beige head. Charred wood on the nose fairly mild in this respect followed on by dark fruit and licquorice. Taste is sweet malt, toffee, dark berry fruit and a subtle smoked flavour. Medium body but fairly wet and went down easily for mid 5%. A good stab at a smoked beer for a start up brewery!

Bottle from City Beverage Company. It pours clear golden yellow, with a medium white head. The nose is grapefruit, peach, plastic, bubblegum even, pine and grass. The taste is juicy tangerine, grapefruit, apricot, pithy, grassy bitterness, varnish and resin, with a bitter, citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Flavoursome and very drinkable. An impressive start from this new brewery.
