Description
Beavertown was founded in 2011 by Logan Plant, the son of Robert Plant, singer with Led Zeppelin. At first established as a brewpub in De Beauvoir Town, East London as part art of the Duke's Brew and Que experience. Expanding means moving! In 2012 to Hackney Wick and in 2014 to Tottenham Hale.

In June 2018, it was announced that Heineken would be buying a minority stake, so that Beavertown could spend £40 million on a new brewery and visitor site. The new brewery was launched in 2020, with a capacity of 500,000 hectolitres, a ten-fold increase in their previous capacity.

As of 7 September 2022 Heineken has taken complete control of Beavertown and now has 100 per cent ownership. Founder Logan Plant will stay on as an adviser.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, pours dark black, big off white head, wow this is a real style definer perfectly balanced hops and malts, none of this stout dressed up as a trendy BIPA nonsense, oh yes I like this will be having again.

Keg at BrewDog Shoreditch, London during the Beavertown event. Pours rich brown with a small, tan cream head. Lots of dry, charred wood on the nose, some baking cocoa. Medium sweet flavor, chalky chocolate, eatrh, good roast, char. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry and roasty finish, dark chocolate, burnt wood, earthy bitterness, hints of dark fruits. Really solid stout.

Bottle from Mr Lawrence, SE London - Pours dark brown/virtually black with a massive beige head which reduces slightly but never dissipates fully and leaves glorious lacing aplenty clinging to the glass. Rich roasted, toffee, cocoa chocolate malts combines with nuances of citrus hops, grapefruit, pine and liquorice notes as well. Lovely mouthfeel, smooth texture, amazing balance of sweet/bitterness on the palate. Seriously impressive stuff this. Beautiful.

Bottle at ChrisO Snow Tasting. It pours near black with a small tan head. The nose is light smoke, caramel, toffee, coffee grinds, faint meatiness and cocoa. The taste is roasted malt, light acidity, toast, coffee, dark fruit, berry, meat, dark chocolate, nice bitterness, hint of smoke and alcohol warmth with a dry finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Flavoursome, but pretty meaty indeed. Flavoursome nonetheless.

Bottle 0.33l at home (via alesbymail). Colour is very light brown with medium white head. Aromas and flavours are spices, ginger, pumpkin and some sweetness. Amount of spices is massive. Hard to say what to think about this beer. Label is one of the most beautiful and original I’ve ever seen. I had to store the empty bottle.
