Description
Flying Dog Brewery is a craft brewery located in Frederick, Maryland. It was founded in 1990 as a brewpub in Aspen, Colarado by George Stranahan and Richard McIntyre. Demand for Flying Dog beers quickly grew beyond the brewpub's capacity. In 1994, the company opened a 30-barrel brewery (Broadway Brewing Company) in Denver. Looking to expand again in 2006, Flying Dog purchased Frederick Brewing Company in Frederick, Maryland and began producing beer in both Maryland and Colorado. In December 2007, Flying Dog announced that it was closing the Denver brewery and would solely produce beer in its Frederick facility.

Opaque walnut black with a big brown head, that thickly laces the glass. Aroma combines roasty malts, chocolate mocha, and a bunch of hops. Very complex! Flavor shows coffee, chocolate malts, and nice hop bitterness.

A pale orange beer with a disappearing off-white head. The aroma is rather sweet and malty with a touch of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet and malty and again with the alcohol shining thru, leading to a dry bitter and alcoholic end.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, fully golden with a creamy, white head. Malty nose with some alcohol shining through. Solid body with lots of sweetish pilsener malt and a sophisticated - almost perfumy - edge. Discreet, hoppy finish. Very clean and true to style Maibock. 150506

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, orangey brown with a creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. Soft aroma of caramel and aroma hops. Quite a full body, sweetish with loads of caramel and a very warming alcohol. Hoppy indeed, but quite a harmonious hoppiness. A pleasant Barleywine, but not amongst the greatest of its style. 220406

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours amber golden with an ever so slight haze and an off-white head leaving a neat lacework. Lovely citrusy hop aroma. Medium-bodied, lightly caramelish with notes of citrus. Short, dry finish, but not overly bitter. 220406

Bottle. Dark yellow color. Orange, citrus flavor. Eh, a little too light for my tastes, but not bitter and has a nice finish.
