My first impression of the name was "why bother with the oatmeal?" Shows what I know. This really is an imperial oatmeal stout, not an imperial stout. Black in colour. Light, roasty aroma with a hint of chocolate. Full, soft body. A little bit roasty. Mild bitterness. I need more time to adapt to the concept but that’s okay because it’s very good beer.

Dark brown colour. Toffeeish aroma. Body is sweet - full of chewy, toffeeish malts with maybe a hint of caramel. This also has a fair bit of bitterness, woodyness, but this blends seamlessly into the malts.

Dark amber colour. Slightly chocolatey, minty, sprucy aroma - none used, though. A little bit thin. Accent is towards toffeeish, slightly chocolatey malt notes.

Cloudy. Light amber colour. Woody, citrusy hop aroma - all hops. The body is a little thin and malts undeveloped. Very woody and bitter - but not balanced. Definitely would want to see this one less attenuated.

Golden-amber colour. Woody, toasty aroma with honeyed malts. Crisp, minerally body. Balanced - the style is done very well here. It’s just not to my personal taste.

Murky colour. Very bitter. Chewy, grassy, slightly resiny. A fun experiment - Perle don’t come to mind as a good APA hop, but these work nicely. A damn tasty drop.

Bottle Pours a jet black witha very large frothy creamy tan head and dense thick lacing. Aromas are a fairly sweet dark roasted malt. Prunes, grapes a little smoke and the ABV is there as well. Flavors are more of a bitter smokey burnt taste and plenty of hops. The alcohol cuts through the flavors pretty easy. Feel is a very smooth buttery, oily sensation.

Bottle Pours a clear light red/amber with a small sandy head that laves very little lacing. Aromais hops and sweet malts. Rather piney. Flavors are woody and bitter. Somewhat sweet and easy going down. Feel is a bit thin and aftertaste is a pleasant grassy hop bitterness. Not a bad selection from my old stomping grounds, Bellingham Wa.

Bottle Pours a deep copper amber witha modest light tan head. Plenty of hops and malt in the aroma and a fiarly heavy ESB type flavor. Feel was decent, not too thin and the aftertaste was a fairly bitter bite.
