Tap at CBM Koenji. Golden ale with champagne yeast. Deep clear gold with a fine head. Nose of apple, pear, honey, grapefruit, light cat piss. Fruity flavor, honey, dry bitter finish. Smooth, oily body. Interesting.

Tap at C&R. Big tropical nose, with overripe fruit, some papaya and pineapple. Palate is kind of overripe, moldy peaches. Bitter, slightly astringent finish. I like the hop a lot but they probably shouldn’t have used it for bittering. --- Beer merged from original tick of Grand Slam IPA Waimea Ver. on 22 Apr 2016 at 20:21 - Score: 5. Original review text: Tropical nose with some papYa and pineapple. Palate is moldy tropical fruit. Harshly bitter and moldy. Weird.

Tap at C&R. Fruity esters on the nose, lots of yeast. Some apple maybe. Sweet on the palate. Feels tired...I don’t know. Almost nothing on the finish. Malt I guess. Meh. --- Beer merged from original tick of The Pale By Minoh Kaori San on 22 Apr 2016 at 20:17 - Score: 6. Original review text: Hmmmm. Fruity estery nose. Yeast. Sweet. Tired malts. Just ok. Forgettable for sure.

Tap at Bung, side by side with the Devil Craft Version. Rather clear, with a fine, thick head. Hops are a bit less outstanding compared to the DC. Less defined, the nose overall is slightly muddled. Sweet and fruity, quite malty, with less hop character in the flavor as well. Full, sweet, with a touch of pine and ripe fruit. PRetty solid overall, but more oily and old school. 3rd rank out of the 4.

Tap at CBM Awajicho. Rather faint nose, lager malt, grass, lemony hop. Decent, rather average lager character, but a bit too boozy. Biscuits, bitter hop. Heavy. Ok but too boozy.

Tap at CBM Awajicho. Pitch black, with a low, thick head. Nose of cocoa, fruit, a bit of rancid milk. Strange berry flavor, yogurt, chocolate, cafe au lait, roasty wood. Too weird. Maybe a light lacto infection, or else they screwed up the lactose.

At a tasting thanks, small bubbly head, hazy orange color, spicey ginger aroma with hints of tropical fruits, spicey ginger flavor with some bread and a lemony sourness, light bitterness, light bodied. Infected, not good.

Bottle shared at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks mom for this bottle! Hazy deep golden with a white head. Sourish aroma, kinda lemony, with some pickled vegetables and fruity notes. Sweetish-sourish flavor with malt, a bit of graininess, a bit of fruitiness, caramel, a bitterish note, and an alcoholic note. Infected, but could be worse. --- Beer merged from original tick of Romantic Village Nikko Iroha Birthday Special Beer on 04 Nov 2015 at 05:16 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 4.5. Original review text: Bottle shared at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks mom for this bottle! Slightly hazy deep golden-copper. Aroma of cardboard, malt, a bit of caramel, a faint toasty hint. Sweetish flavor with malt, some caramel, a bit of cardboard, and a bitterish finish with slightly stale hops. Medium-bodied. Feels like it used to be a decent beer, but it seems too old now.
