Description
Belgian and Hop forward inspired Brewpub located in Historic Uptown Shelby, North Carolina. Enjoy up to 16 hand-crafted brews, cuisine and live music.

Newgrass Brewing Company resides in heart of what many people know as the “City of Pleasant Living,” otherwise known as Shelby, North Carolina. We draw on our farmland surroundings, traditions and local heroes for inspiration while striving to maintain our own unique and progressive brewing concepts.

Just as the “newgrass” music genre was a progressive take on a very traditional style of music in bluegrass, Newgrass Brewing Company strives to do the exact same by blending renditions of traditional styles with deconstructed and reinterpreted progressive brews that have no borders.

EB New brewery tick ? exotic tropical fruity with some papaya and red grapefruit, gooseberry and grapes, dense mouthfeel and medium body, sweet malty backing, balanced bitter hoppy close. Good stuff.

Can @ Belgian Beer Geeks Winter Gathering. Slightly unclear deep mahogany, good off-white head. Aroma brings caramelised malt with a gentle oaky barrel influence, flavour profile compliments with a soft leathery richness. Not bad.

1/III/25 - 1Pt. can @ Belgian Beer Geek Gathering (2025 Winter/Spring edition), BB: n/a (2025-160) Thanks to nathanvc for sharing the can!

Clear red brown beer, small creamy off-white head, unstable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: nice, very malty, grains, hay, some cow fodder, soft roast, some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: nice, malty, slightly sweet, cow fodder, a bitter touch, grains, a hint of chocolate, slightly bitter, some tannins. Aftertaste: more malts, grains, cow fodder, good stuff, decent true-to-style doppelbock!
