Fermenting since 2014 with only wild brattleboro mixed culture yeast. continually pushing boundaries of new sour beer. brewhouse fueled by wood, not fossils.
To truly understand terroir and wild yeast, a brewer must come to terms with the type of beer that “wants to be made” in their region. We are proud of Brattleboro’s wild yeast for its balance, its stone fruit and pecan character, and how dry and effervescent it leaves the beer. We are grateful to our region’s farms for the availability of world class hops and fruits, as well as to our area distilleries for unique and beautiful oak barrel flavor histories.
We delight in making beer that could only be made in our place, with our team, supported by our community and environment.

Can, illegible date, a bit on the older side, from shelf, drunk 6/4/24. Mostly clear, deep bronze. Small, off-white, yellow-tinged head sits at cover. Lovely mix of passion fruit and lactic acid in the nose. Fairly mellow at this point with no metal or older yeast component, thankfully. Passion fruit is aromatic and tastefully done. In the mouth it's juicy as hell with a lovely acidity. Brett and lacto with a tropical kick from the juicy, earthy, lightly tart passion fruit. Mellow oak, low red wine and no big tannin with no punchy acidity. Nice balance while retaining a good sour ale character.

Poured a mostly clear dark lemon-lime yellow color with a small white head. Flavor was light fruit, mild sourness. Flavor was big passion fruit tartness. Not overly sour, but pleasant tartness. At a DCBeer share.

Pint can courtesy of Explosive dog. Thanks. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that soon recedes to a fine film. The aroma is funky with brett and sour fruits. The taste is pleasantly sour/tart with sour apples and raspberries. The palate is light ands crisp with prickly carbonation. Finishes long with lingering sour berries and some acidity. Overall: Decent enough, but the lingering acidity blew it. Paired well with a farmhouse cheese.
