Description
Winterlong Brewing Co. was a dream that started in the summer of 2014.

Marko and Meghan Marjanovic had been homebrewing for 10 years, and finally decided to take the risk and start a brewery. They secured a lease, applied for a licence, and ordered brewing equipment during the fall and winter of 2014.

Our philosophy is simple: we brew the beer we want to drink.

Winterlong Brewing Co. is a small, craft brewery. We focus on creating beer that is bold in flavour. Our beer is unfiltered in order to maximize flavour and aroma.

Draught @ Whiskey Jack's. Dark amber, thin head. Toasty, chewy rich malts and moderate bitterness. Well-balanced for the style...a big, hoppy amber.

Bottle. Dark brown, thick head. Has a light chocolate nose and taste. Fairly light, not much bitterness so the balance is a bit weak. Would prefer a bigger, creamier body.

Light gold, this has a lot of orange on the nose - big simcoe I assume. On the palate, similar but with a clean slightly biscuity malt note and then also a fair bit of bitterness.

Draught at the brewery. Light gold. There is some fruity notes, estery, like rockets. Not bad but not going anywhere for me.

Draught at the brewery. Light pale malt, pale gold, and it’s a touch grassy. Moderate bitterness, light grassy hops. A touch flabby but decent.

Dark brown. Chocolate and grapefruit on the nose. Lots of bitterness. Mainly chocolate on the palate, but with an earthy hop note.

Draught at the brewery. Amber colour and slight haze. No head. Light malt - low bitterness and the malts are a bit flabby. This needs way more hop.

Draught at the brewery. Dark brown, has a nice toffeeish malt aroma with some dark chocolate. Bitter, liquorice, toast, dark chocolate. Dark fruit complexity. This is fun. I like the lighter more complex pocket. An impy for old school beer nerds.

Draught at the brewery. Cloudy, dullish tan. Bitter, shot of alcohol. Slightly crackery malt. The hops are foresty, woody with just a slight citrus note.

Muddy-looking. Has some orangey, weedy character. Decent malt base, the hops aren’t bad. Definitely too yeasty though.
