Description
Winterlong Brewing Co. was a dream that started in the summer of 2014.
Marko and Meghan Marjanovic had been homebrewing for 10 years, and finally decided to take the risk and start a brewery. They secured a lease, applied for a licence, and ordered brewing equipment during the fall and winter of 2014.
Our philosophy is simple: we brew the beer we want to drink.
Winterlong Brewing Co. is a small, craft brewery. We focus on creating beer that is bold in flavour. Our beer is unfiltered in order to maximize flavour and aroma.

473ml can. Pours a clear dark brown, almost black with red hue and a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that leaves curtains of lace. Semi-sweet aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and caramel. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, spicy rye (almost peppery) and dark chocolate in a dry, mild bitter, coffee finish. Medium body with a thick, sticky, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Delicious and well balanced.

Sweet flavour of caramel malt, candied sugar, apricot, plum, Belgian yeast and oak in a dry, bourbon warming finish. Full body with a sticky, oily texture and average carbonation. Malt forward and a bit too sweet, but still enjoyable to sip on.

473mL can, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a medium white head. Aroma reveals a very pleasant saison yeast character upfront, replete with black pepper and citrus. Flavour is full of spicy saison yeast, vibrant citrus, esters, some gentle peppery notes, and a crisp biscuity malt on the back-end. I like the yeast profile here, though it is a tad on the estery side, which I'd prefer toned down. Still, good stuff for a North American saison.

473mL can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out biting piney hops, some earthy / sweaty notes, and dry bready malt. Flavour is much along the same lines, with bitter pine, some earthy hops, maybe a bit of resins, and a bready malt backbone. The hops are perhaps not as vibrant as they could be, but the piney bitterness is very nice with just enough sweetness to back. Very nice west coast IPA.

Can from High Point, Vancouver
Blond colour, hazy. Light sweat and pine aroma. Crispy mouthfeel, off-dry, crackery malt flavour, some herbaceous hop. Robust bitterness level. Modern west coast ipa, but the hop could have a better, brighter character.

22oz at Phill's place. Appearance: very dark brown with a beide head. Aroma: bourbon, barrel, some chocolate and vanilla. Taste: very low sweetness, very bourbon barrel forward, dry. Overall: didn't expect it be that dry, but it's still good imperial stouts.
