Description
Winterlong Brewing Co. was a dream that started in the summer of 2014.
Marko and Meghan Marjanovic had been homebrewing for 10 years, and finally decided to take the risk and start a brewery. They secured a lease, applied for a licence, and ordered brewing equipment during the fall and winter of 2014.
Our philosophy is simple: we brew the beer we want to drink.
Winterlong Brewing Co. is a small, craft brewery. We focus on creating beer that is bold in flavour. Our beer is unfiltered in order to maximize flavour and aroma.

Re-rate. Poured from 473mL can. Clear gold with white head. Cracker malt with pine hops, mild floral hops. Better than a few years ago, but still needs a fresh pop from the hops. July 09, 2018 (6/3/6/3/11=2.9): Poured from the tap at the tasting room. Mostly clear golden with white head. Mild pine hops with some chewy malt. Decent, basic.

2020-12-14, can from The Gull, North Vancouver, 8.5% ABV, 7-4-8-4-17=40
Blond to golden colour, slight haze. Excellent piney hops, with a delicate malt base, moderate residual sugars, and bold bitterness.
Huge improvement!
2016-09-13, tasting at Matt's; bottle, 8% ABV, 7-3-5-2-11=28
Hazy light amber color. The aroma is fruity, some strawberry, candy, candied pineapple; weird but not bad. Mellow, sweetish, not cloying; some cereally malts, but also too much vegetables, so I suspect the fermentation didn't work very well here, and the final has some chicory bitterness and too much alcohol.
Not very good, but not a disaster.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy dark golden with a small white head. Aroma is very herbal, with skunky and grassy hops, some diacetyl, and dry caramel bready malt. Flavour is quite herbal and skunky, with herbal and grassy hops, bready malt, and some astringent hoppy finish. Herbal, bready, stale and bitter finish. Not bad, but it's very flawed. --- Beer merged from original tick of Reckless Abandon on 13 Sep 2016 at 20:05 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 3 | Flavor - 3 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 2.5. Kind of a murky light tan/brown. A few bubbles but otherwise not a lot of head. There is some fruity hop, old school c-hop stuff, with a chewy malt character. The palate has diacetyl, berryish hops, and again it is quite chewy. So maybe not the best execution on this one.

Bottle at the July DC tasting. Poured a deep orange color with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma was lots of floral notes, light juicy notes. Flavor had plenty of citrus and bitter grapefruit character to it. Slight booze finish to it.
