Draught at the cidery, 7/27/18.
Pale brass-to-straw golden, hazy.
Nose is lemon and spicy, yet intricate and earthy as well, tea. Surprising softness and the lemon really cuts through the normally overly sweet character of Downeast's base cider. Honey and vanilla are massively dried out by preserved lemon and citric acid with sharp floral scents.
In the mouth it's soft and briskly carbonated with plentiful black tea character and honey-like apple juice quickly drying via acidic yet flavorful lemon. Really nicely balanced and great to see something on the drier side (contrary to their actual cider "Drier Side" which really isn't).

Draught at the cidery, 7/27/18.
Dark bronze-golden, mostly clear.
Sweet, more so than usual from Downeast, though not off-putting, with a good mix of fruit and light tannin with moderate acidity and lots of vanilla, table sugar and light citrus.
In the mouth it's sweet, strong and rich with some acidity and alcohol towards the end and light caramel and lots of cinnamon suggestions. Vanilla, honey and more acidity on the finish. But to reiterate, it's just too sweet, ultimately.

Draught at the cidery, 7/27/18.
Lightly hazy, brassy-golden with a small ring of bubbles atop.
Bit of pepper and herbs with a pinch of grapefruit leading to red apple, light skin notes and sweeter table sugar and light vanilla.
In the mouth it shows light grapefruit and herbs with lightly juicy apple notes that are fairly sweet though simplistic as Downeast seems to most often be. Engaging carbonation and no bitterness, which probably would have been really nice to help balance.

Draught at the cidery, 7/27/18.
Slight haze to the blonde-brass body. Ring of bubbles atop.
Nose is light skin tannin, a pinch of juice, table sugar and a bit of malic acidity. Pretty timid, though it's clean and lightly fruity with no problems or off-notes.
In the mouth it's dry, not overly so, with red apple and light skin tannin. Minimally juicy with hints of table sugar, vanilla, pepper and mild acidity. Engaging carbonation and a substantial body to it. Fine.

On tap at The Malted Barley, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma is like pineapple juice and nothing else. Flavour is similar, with almost nothing but pineapple juice. Lightly tart and quite sweet. Barely cider-like. Not my thing.

From tap. Pours hazy yellow, small white head. Aroma is mild apple fruity. Juicy apples, pineapple citrusy too. Tropical fruty, sweet pineapple and juicy. Sweet and crisp finish.

Pours a slightly hazy pale yellow from a tap. Light pineapple and apple aroma, rather light handed on the pineapple flavor but pleasantly so: it doesn’t beat you over the head with its addition. Good cider.
