Chestnut coloured beer, end of bottle pretty ’unclear’. Good, creamy, whipped cream-like head, yellowish. Sourish nose, with some nice fruity acids, but also a bit lactic, on a malty background. Light citrus in the taste, but also a touch on the edge of infected. Malty, still sweet underbuild, fruity flavours of fresh figs. Caramel and some higher alcohols. Medium bodied, ends significantly lighter. Rather typical for ’t IJ. I call this "infected", but this kind of "infection" I’ll tolerate anytime.

Bottle from Utobeer, London. Hazy russet colour with lasting beige head. Vegetal aroma, boiled cabbage. Some malt in mouth, smooth, but more cabbage flavour. Not sure this should be like this. Odd

(bottle) Hazy and pale amber coloured effervescent hue with a giant foamy off-white head. Yeasty, fruity (orange) and moderately sweet doughy malt aroma with cloves. Candied sweet malty initial flavour and orange fruity and yeasty taste, medium to full bodied, lively carbonated mouthfeel; almost dry, fruity and slightly bitter hoppy coriander-spicy finish with a tart aftertaste. Complex and powerful brew, but slightly unbalanced. (Thanks bierkoning for this one !)

Bottled. Hazy brown/dark orange colour, small white head. Aroma barnyardish malts with weak hints of alcohol. Also in this one the aroma comes kind of weak. Flavour of sweet plum, alcohol and some "ginsengic" notes. (reminds of La Swaf!’s in a way).

Bottled. Hazy orange colour, mediumsized foamy head. Weak barnyardish caramellish aroma, which is a bit weird. Flavour is sweet malty with wheaty hints. Pleasant flavour.

Hazy golden ale with a thick creamy white head. Pleasant funky Orval aroma, coriander and herbal hops. In mouth, smooth lightly sweet malts, with ground cherries, coriander and light spicey final. Creamy, smooth. Very much in Orval style. Bought at Knighly Liquors, Orlando, 4.49$

Bottle
Fruity and herbal aroma, light bandaid. Amber, small yeast floaties(probably my own fault), huge tanned lacing head. Agressive citric fruit base flavor -Peppery, chalky edges - citric and herbal hops kick in after that, yeasty citric aftertaste. Sparkly mouthfeel, medium body. Thanks Nat!

Deep amber in colour. Thick long lasting off-white head. Sweet aroma of raisins, caramel and malt. Flavour is bitter and fruity, but a little dry aftertaste. A little thing mouthfeel. The bottle i had was best before 2004-07 and not stored in a perfect place. Some hints of raisins in the aftertaste aswell. Very nice.
