0.5 L bottle. Dark hazy, muddy brown, with a big, beige head, and thick lacing. The aroma is light chocolate, toffee, resin, and pine. The flavor is malty and sweet, with a good, mellow bitterness. Medium body, sticky, creamy, and a little astringent. Overall, this is a beautiful, nicely balanced beer.

Bottle - Toasted malts and earthy hops with a malt backbone. Super thick head and jet amber. Candy hops with a slight malt richness, as an IPA great, but as CDA doesn’t have the roasted malts I was looking for.

16 oz tallboy can. Aroma is perfumy, chalky, caramelly, toasty. Pours slightly hazy copper with a one finger collapsing off-white head. Taste is roasty sweet, a little tart. Faint off-note of metal. Medium body, highly carbonated. Pretty tasty.

Picked up at the brewpub. This swing top bottle pours with a dark body that supports a tall densely cobwebbed mocha colored head. The aroma is nice and malty with dark roasted malts, musty earthy sweet malts and chocolate malts as well as a dash of earthy dates thinly ringed around the other notes. The taste begins with a sweet maltiness leading quickly into dark roasted malts and earthy chocolate malts. The chocolate gets thick midway just as a robust level of burnt malts tries its best to take the flavor over completely. Wow! This has tons of flavor that work seamlessly together. Nice stuff.

Big one quart swing top growler. Pours a hazy, deep garnet amber with some creamy, slightly off white head. Classic black IPA nose, if there is such a thing, dust, pine, some bread, a little orange, pine cone, soap. Flavor is crisp, pithy orange, light grapefruit rind, pine, dusty, a little dried wood. Medium bodied, dry finish.

Bottle thanks to Travlr! Poured a slightly dark brown color with a off-white head. Aroma was bitter, earthy hop notes, some sharp chocolate and creamy notes. As it warmed it got pretty good. Silky. Good!
