Tap at the brewpub, fall 2013 - Pours ruby red with minimal head and a rich cherry aroma. It’s sweet with lots of dark cherries. What we have is a tasty, straightforward fruit beer.I’m not getting much in the way of lambic character here but it’s worth trying the beer.

Tap at the brewpub, fall 2013 - Pours ruby red with a strong raspberry aroma. It tastes sweet with tart raspberries. Bubbly and light to medium bodied, it has a lingering tartness. It’s good. I’m not specifically noticing he wild yeast here. The sugars may be overwhelming it, but regardless I enjoyed the beer.

Tap at the brewpub, fall 2013 - This brew has a copper color with a lingering off-white head. It features orange and grapefruit aromas. The flavor has good bitterness with earthy and citrus notes. It’s medium bodied and alright though I’m not crazy about it. It may be that the hops don’t seem crisp enough for me.

tap at the brewpub, fall 2013 - Pours dark brown with a small, lingering, light tan head. It smells of roast coffee and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with more chocolate and coffee and a medium to full body. Quite good.

Tap at University of Beer in Davis, CA. Pours ruddy and dark with a beige head. Aroma is red grapey. Med body. Flavor is red berry and malt, but not wood. I’m thinking this is a crush style rather than BA. This is not your typical sour ale. It’s definitely on the sweet side. But it’s extremely delicious. You know, like port wine. With a bit of grape must.

Sample at Kurtkeller 005: Coffee-tastic 01 on 02/08/2014. Dark brown pour with a medium thin beige head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of coffee and butterscotch. Light to medium body with flavors of roast malt, caramel and mild coffee. The finish is sweet with a malt and mild coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy dark amber orange with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out earthy notes, caramel, and vegetal notes - not too much in the way of hops. Flavour brings a lot of vegetal notes, light hops, and some bready notes. Way too vegetal - tons of off-notes here. Not very drinkable. Quite bad.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy gold with a foamy white head. Aroma of cooked cereal. With a little hop that might be noble. Med body. Definitely a cooked grain flavor, gets a bit gritty, with some hop that seems to be citrus. Not quite so hoppy/tangy as Anchor Steam, but it is a very tasty beer. Not sure why - it is low hop - but it’s a very nice beer.

Tap. Pours clear pink, medium fizzy pink head, some lacing. Aroma is raspberry liquor. Flavor is super sweet, tiny bit of sour on the back of the tongue. Medium body. Not a bad dessert beer. My wife would love it.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brown/black with a creamy tan head. Chocolate aroma. Med body, almost. Flavor does have macadamia, with a good amount of chocolate. Plays at being dry. Probably much healthier than choc coated macadamias. The flavors are not outrageously strong, but the are firm. It’s extremely tasty. I think it’s a great porter.
