Description
Big Drop Brewing Co. is a new craft beer company dedicated to making great beer with an ABV of no more than 0.5%.
Big Drop was launched in October 2016 by the-then City lawyer Rob Fink, along with his school-friend/band-mate, designer and entrepreneur, James Kindred. Along with renowned experimental brewer, Johnny Clayton (formerly of Wild Beer Co), they’ve perfected techniques to make alcohol-free craft beer without the need for artificial removal of alcohol.
The 2018 contract with a leading supermarket chain will require Big Drop, which moved production from a small-batch brewer in Bermondsey to Sussex-based own-label specialist Hepworth, to scale up production from 10,000 litres per month to some 40,000 litres.
Production moved to Black Sheep Brewery after a deal was agreed with Keystone Brewing Group, announced December 2024.

Pleasant enough, but nothing much going on here. Their Pine Trail is in a quite different league.

330ml can bought at Eurospar Langnes. Bright warm golden body, dissipating white head leaving lacing rings down the glass. Moderate smell of ripe citrus. Similar taste of ripe citrus with orange up front. Pretty nice drying bitter ending. Well made considering the low abv. (Tromsø 09.04.2020).

330ml can bought at Eurospar Langnes. Good looking in the glass with a bright golden-brown body, clingy lacing from an off-white head. Vague pale malty nose, mid-sweet. Restrained taste profile of pale malts backed by herbal hops. Hints of cardboard towards the ending. Drinkable. (Tromsø 09.04.2020).

Can shared at home (13/03/2020) sourced from Honest Brew, Crystal Palace - hazed light yellow pour with a thin white head. Fruity and malty with notes of citrus fruit, pine needles, grass, cereal, grain, light lactose undertones, watery to light body and mouthfeel, bitter hoppy finish. Alright AF beer.

Bottle at home (10/03/2020) sourced from Honest Brew, Crystal Palace - a light hazed golden pour with white head. Bit of a gusher on opening, very high carbonation, citrus fruity with some light grapefruit and lemony notes, pineapple, sweet pale malt, light watery body, bitter subdued hoppy close. Soso.

Most impressive for a no alcohol beer - delightful citrussy/limey freshness and lovely pine bitterness.
