Description
Big Drop Brewing Co. is a new craft beer company dedicated to making great beer with an ABV of no more than 0.5%.
Big Drop was launched in October 2016 by the-then City lawyer Rob Fink, along with his school-friend/band-mate, designer and entrepreneur, James Kindred. Along with renowned experimental brewer, Johnny Clayton (formerly of Wild Beer Co), they’ve perfected techniques to make alcohol-free craft beer without the need for artificial removal of alcohol.
The 2018 contract with a leading supermarket chain will require Big Drop, which moved production from a small-batch brewer in Bermondsey to Sussex-based own-label specialist Hepworth, to scale up production from 10,000 litres per month to some 40,000 litres.
Production moved to Black Sheep Brewery after a deal was agreed with Keystone Brewing Group, announced December 2024.

Can. A crystal clear dark golden colored beer with a small white head. Curtains. The aroma is lightly grainy, lightly fruity and in general weak. Nothing particular going on. Flavorwise it's much the same, but the malts are more on the bready side, with a touch of caramel. Hints of bitterness. Medium body, soft and semi dry. Short fruity finish. Sure drinkable, far from bad, but there are lots of more interesting alcohol free beers on the market. 200328

Can from Gulating. Almost clear golden body with a nice white head that fades a bit fast. Really strong and very nice aroma, citric fruit, peach and some malt. Taste is smooth and refreshing with fruit, soft malt and moderate bitterness. The bitterness feels actually a bit stronger after a few more sips and there are some grassy hops here as well together with the fruity bitterness. Surprisingly well-balanced body for a non-alcohol beer, actually it feels way better balanced than most modern session IPA/NEIPA kind of beers. One of the better NA beers I have tasted.

330ml bottle shared with Finn at Sourced Market. Clear amber body, dotted spots on the glass from a covering white head. Vague smell of grainy grass. Similar distant taste of grainy grass, dry. Missing tail. Pretty empty, no off-taste though. (London 07.02.2020).
