Shared bottle @ Eldorado, Zurich. Murky amber body with a small beige head. Aroma is funky, ripe fruity, wood, leather, sour berries, vinegar and hint of acetone. Almost a bit unpleasant in aroma, but it opens up with some air and feels a lot better when starting to drink. Flavor is complex, sweet brown malt in combination with acidic vinegar, wood, dry fruit, ripe fruit, cellar notes and spices. Fine body and long lasting, tart aftertaste.

Bottle as BATS. Clear amber body with a nice, dense tan head. Quite mild aroma, malt, oak and very light smoke. Flavor is rather sweet, smooth and pleasant with malt, some caramel, light smoke and hint of cellar notes. Well balanced body and smooth in aftertaste as well. Very nice beer, a little disappointed as the smoke part is close to nothing, perhaps this has faded during storing? Anyway a smooth, tasty and slightly original beer.

Sample at Solothurner Biertage, may 2019. Clear amber with a small white head. Aroma has light malt, general fruitiness and slightly acidic. Flavor is light and easy, medium sweet malt, fruit, moderate bitterness and slightly sour. Quite plain and smooth, still a bit difficult to place in ant particular style.

On tap @ Red John Irish Pub, Solothurn, Switzerland. Slightly unclear pale golden body with a small, lacing white head. Aroma has light pale malt, mild fruitiness, floral, ginger, hint of lemon and spicy yeast. Flavor is light and smooth pale malt, mild citric fruit, ginger, wheat, some lemon and herbs. Light body, that is perfect for this beer and the same light and refreshing aftertaste. Nothing complex, but a superb thirst quencher, I actually had a few pints of this instead of ticking some less interesting beers at this pub.

Bottle @ Eldorado, Zurich. Slightly unclear body with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and slightly acidic, very refreshing. Flavor has some of the same expression as aroma, light, smooth pale malt, mild fruitiness, refreshing sourness and some spicy yeast. Medium body and light and refreshing aftertaste. Not a beer I will consider to be a wit by the traditional style, but sure a nice and refreshing beer anyway.

Bottle. The best way I can describe this beer is it looked like muddy water. The aroma had hints of funk, wine barrel and old fruit. Taste was kind of sour and just had plain weirdness. Didn't taste like any barley wine I've ever had before.

I drank this beer in lausanne. It is an average beer, it sounds morw a lager with hop than a Altbier, but is just my point of view, not bad., Buying this original bottle in one coop, Lausanne.

750ml from dsnowden, thank you!!!
Ok, i’ve been anxiously waiting for this.
Aroma is fruity, and sour, with a touch of caramel. the sourness is very much like a flemish sour, and overall the aroma is very much like wine. Flavour is woody, the oak really comes through. Its a combo of an oak aged flemish sour, and a barley wine. I’m getting the sourness with oak and caramel. If there ever was a beer that deserved it’s own classification its this one. VERY interesting, i thoroughly enjoyed it! 15.5% are you kidding me!?! i wonder if thats a typo, the alcohol isnt even close to being present. Wow, awesome stuff
