Description
OWA beer was born in May 2006. It was born and designed for the best Belgium and Japanese fusion food experience. It is indeed a very good combination with SUSHI and YAKITORI (weet soy sauce). The brewery is located in the famous district of Uccle in Brussels, only 2kms from the Moeder Lambic in Saint Gilles. Leo Imai started to brew in December 2008 and in 2009 he made a kitchen laboratory in the brewery, and researched the best marriage with japanese food.

Pale dull tan. No head. What a nose, fresh sweet cherries, cherry pits, and touch of cinnamon spiciness. Crazy, this beer is totally different from anything I’d had. Sweet, touch of spice, marzipan/almond extract, and light cherry.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to K-Bird. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Not bad overall, lots of dark fruits, bread, light metallic notes, some meat. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly warming, with some woody accents, more dark berries, toasty sugars. Nice enough.

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, thanks to Kenwold, 12/06/14. #475/500. Chestnut brown with a moderate light beige covering. Nose is ripe fruits, Belgian yeast esters, toffee, bitter shandy notes, dark fruit peel. Taste comprises caramel, dark fruit, subtle BA effect, red berry fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok, not overly dynamic, doesn’t deliver at lot for a BA beer or for the ABV, not unpleasant just a little whelming.

Bottle thanks to Ken. It pours dark ruby with a minimal beige head. The nose is roasty, sweet, earth, chocolate, dark fruits, candied, wood and sweet vanilla. The taste is sweet, roasty, cherry cola, caramel, vanilla and light alcohol in the background. Medium body, high carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Not much wine action. Plenty of cola. A bit thin and foamy. Meh.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a tiny head. Nose brings out loads of the cherry blossoms -- very floral upfront, with light funk. Flavour is extremely strong on the flowers, with very subtle kriek notes, and funk. The flowers are insanely potent, with a dry flowery finish. Certainly a unique lambic - never had anything like this. Very good stuff.

Eye: Brass colur with a slight haze. Dense, mid-sized, white head.
Nose: Sweet plums with cork in the background.
Mouth: Lively carbonaion.
Tongue: Ripe plums, grapes, raisins. Sourish finish.
Brain: I expected something really sour but got something on the sweeter side of the lambic-sphere. But I’m not complaining; it was quite refreshing on a hot day like this.
