Can. Translucent orange with a white head that settles to a cm. Aroma of brash twiggy spices, pineapple, oranges, bread. Light bodied, low carbonation. Pithy and twiggy amaro like bitterness with some gentle fruit behind. Bit of a car crash.

Bottle. Black with an inch of tan head that fades to a 1/2cm. There's stout under sweet whiskey (gosh, what could it be?) but it smells overmatched. Smooth, almost oily body. Plenty of whiskey and it is sweet, but the stout fights back: mocha, roast, some seaweed, hints of spices. Oddly, no oak. Warming but no really overt alcohol. In recent years, Moon Dog have found the way to make their big beers involving but drinkable - this is another one. But for me the barrels were too wet.

Can. Clear amber with an inch of white head. 4 Soft fruity aroma with tropical jubes, oranges, grapefruit, bread, hints of pine. Fairly sweet with lightly toasty malt melding with jube-like tropical and some berry flavours. A little citrus and pine. Moderately bitter finish. Expected something a little more rambunctious - there's a definite thing about making non hazy IPAs now where the assertiveness of the older West Coast IPAs is not returned to. Interesting and pretty good though.

Moon Dog The Duke of Chifley 12.2% Whiskey BA Barleywine Having a Valentine’s meal at some Aussie friends so brought this to share. Great mellow malt caramel with wiskey heat. Full bodied, Rich caramel, oak, whiskey, heat this is a solid super smooth BA beer that was great for pairing with chocolates.

There's fairly faint aromas of mango, pineapple, caramel, spearmint and vanilla. I felt like I really had to stick my nose in to get the scent. It has a nice creamy mouthfeel with similar flavours, though the caramel is less prominent. Finishes a bit short. All the elements are there, but it's just a bit muted. Enjoyable but not a classic.

Not sure what an ice cream induced beer is. Ruby pour. Ode is cherry and licorice. Tastes of red licorice, cherry, lemon lime soda, vanilla, herbal. Bubble odd palate.

Tall can from Winerack at home during winter holidays. Orange-copper pour with fine white head. Aroma is orange grapefruit pine lemon. Nice - more citrus than your average west coast IPA, in a nice way. Taste is similar but a bit less defined. Citrus brightness, some light pine, a bit more muddied. Drier finish than most west coast too.

Can from Beer52. Lightly hazed pale orange colour with a large white head and a light fizz. Tastes of a citrussy pale ale with a squirt of lime juice and a vanilla ice cream float. Not getting any pineapple, but definitely one of the most ice creamy beers of this sort I've had. It's unusual and a little odd to have vanilla with lime; I couldn't decide if I liked the combination or not. But overall more positives than negatives in this one; I enjoyed it.

Pours hazy gold with a small head.Nose shows mango jelly beans. Nothing else!Flavours include more mango confectionery with some vanilla and lactose sweetness, mixing in with the lingering gentle bitterness.

Can. Very clear amber with a puffy white head. Aroma of orange zest, pine, some mango skin, grapefruit, bread. Barely medium bodied, medium-low carbonation. Just enough crusts on bread to support vibrant citrus and lighter pine before a bitter finish. Not in truth a very interesting beer, but hops tasty.
