Tap at Manchester airport with breakfast. Bright gold and frothy white head. Nosevand tastes of lemon, grassy and light dough. Pretty crisp fairly hoppy. Enjoyable.

Tap at Manchester airport breakfast time. Amber pour. Little grass, malt and caramel. Not what I would say is typical of an American IPA. Low bitterness. But pleasant enough beverage despite deceiving name.

Cask at the Coronet JDW. Dark red/brown colour with small beige head. Aroma is roasty, touch of coffee, bit of chocolate. Taste is coffee bitter and some light chocolate. Some sweetness. Maybe like a cold milky sweet coffee. Ok, but nothing special really, and a touch thin.

Hazy orange blond with a small patchy white head. Aroma is very malty and slightly stinky/sulphurous. Taste gives more malt, bread/dough. Very soft in the mouth. Slightly bitter finish and soft carbonation. Not that exciting to be honest, but not bad.

Bottle from Sainsburys beer challenge thing. Amber coloured. Very clear. White frothy head. Aroma malt, a bit stinky. Could only smell the orange and liquorice after I read it on the bottle. Taste is quite plain, bit of toffee and can taste a bit of liquorice. Ok, but very average. Doesn't seem at all like a wit bier.

Queens Hotel, Ambleside. Cask. Golden color. Hops and some citrus in the aroma. Very hoppy and citrusy. Rather thin, even a bit watery. Pleasant hoppy, oaky aftertaste. Firm hop character, good balance, but could use more body.

Aroma has malt and cake dough. Golden color with a hint of copper. A bit sweetish, but with a firm hopbitterness and some malt. Hint of orange fruit. Well balanced, a bit nutty ale.
