Keg at The Tavern, Red Wharf Bay, Anglesey. Dull light amber with a white head and a moderate fizz. Caramel malts with some grass and citrus hops. Rather dull and muted. Big brewer successfully creates a safe, inoffensive attempt at imitating a craft beer.

18 March 2019. At George IV, Edinburgh. Shared with the lovely Anke! As 'Edinburgh Castle (Cask)'. Pours clear amber with a lasting, foamy, tan head; lots of lacing. Aroma of toast, biscuit, toffee, mocha, peanut, pistachio, raisin. Taste is light to medium malty sweet, notes of caramel & biscuit but not overly sugary, a tad nutty; light grainy bitter then, toasty too with herbal & grassy tones, vague dried fruits in the back. Dryish, grassy & herbal hoppy finish, lingering biscuit, toffee, nuts. Light to medium body, slick texture, soft to flat carbonation. Not that complex, of course, but I thought it smelled inviting and it's agreeable to drink.
