Description
Our brewery started life up in Morpeth, Northumberland, back in 2012. One name change later, we settled on being called Anarchy Brew Co. and started brewing our core beers, packed with flavour that we still make today (Blonde Star and Citra Star). After running out of room at the old site, we decided we needed somewhere bigger. And in October we moved to new digs in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you’ll find us today. The new Anarchy brewery opened its doors in October 2018 in Walkergate, with the added bonus of our new taproom.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a clear pale straw with minimal almost white head and good lacing. There’s sweet malts and grains in the aroma. Sweetness continues in the mouth albeit with some underlying bitterness. Malts and floral hops in the flavour alongside some spicy hints with ginger and herbs coming through later. Finish is dry and quite hoppy. This is a fairly decent session IPA.

Can from lowcostbeer, consumed 1 week before BBE. Pours an orange-caramel colour with small white head. Aroma has a deep stewed orange and tropical fruit with spring onion. Taste has plenty of orange, mango and passionfruit to start but then a big ol' bitterness kicks in with dank onion and herbal notes. Medium+ body, slightly oily, carbonation could be a little softer. Maybe a touch unbalanced but this beer does have plenty of punchy character.
