Description
Hill Farmstead Brewery is the culmination of many years of travel and insight—of experience and education—of friendships and explorations. The brewery is the revival and continuation of 220 years of Hill heritage and hand crafted history in North Greensboro, Vermont. Its logo is retrieved from a sign that once hung in Aaron Hill's (our great(x3) grandfather) tavern, just up the hill, in the early 1800s.

Bottle muled by oteyj, thanks very much! Murky dark maroon color, tiny brown head had to be coaxed. Aroma of whiskey, vanilla, chocolate syrup. Taste is whiskey, coffee, vanilla. Slightly too much whiskey, I think, but not bad. Can’t tell it apart from an imperial stout.

Bottle muled by oteyj, thanks! Black, thick and creamy brown head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of oranges covered in dark milk chocolate. Taste is smooth chocolate milk and a finish of pepper. Medium body. Very nice.

Bottle shared by Steve at my house. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of orange rind, heavily roasted smooth chocolate, citrus and vanilla. Orange rind and citrus intertwine beautifully and seamlessly with the roasted chocolate body. I was skeptical at first when I heard there would be a citrus imperial stout, but this is amazing high quality craftsmanship.

Bottle. Pours light yellow with a huge white head. This is a very sweet and flowery beer. The honey dominates the taste and makes it almost too sweet. Small sourness in the end. A fun beer to try but not the best of saisons.

Bottle: Poured a hazy bright golden color ale with a nice large pure white foamy head with good retention and some excellent lacing. Aroma of rustic ester and floral malt is very nice and enticing. Taste is also a nice mix between some floral malt with good attenuation and limited sweetness with some rustic notes and a lightly spicy yeast strain. Body is full with excellent carbonation. Hops are present though not overly so and provide nice zesty flavour. Another great combination between some complex flavour while retaining some great complexity.

On tap at MikkellerBar. Black colour, light brown head. Aroma is sweet, brown sugar, sweet chocolate, some coffee, hard roasted malts. Flavour is sweet, milk chocolate, touch of coffee, hard roasted malts, rye, firm roasted bitterness, light hops. Medium to fullbodied. Nice, but a bit too sweet for my taste.
