Can: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some retention and some lacing notes. Aroma of deep rich cocoa chocolate notes with some vanilla notes, bourbon and light hazelnuts and residual sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of deep rich cocoa chocolate notes with some vanilla notes, some bourbon and some hazelnuts with some residual sugar notes. Body is full for style and good carbonation with light discernible alcohol notes. Well brewed BA pastry stout.

Super hazy, deep straw golden coloured body with a pretty large, four to five centimetre tall just off-white head that's beautifully microfoamed and stays afloat for a long time over top of the 90 per cent opaque body. Aroma of grass, full oranges, lemons, coriander seed, subtle spices and some deeper hop notes and crisp alpha acids noticeable. Medium-bodied; Pretty rich malt and wheat notes with oats as well and some dry, crisp and fragrant grassy flavours do show through, all with a nice alpha acid blast from all the hops here with a very tiny sliver of tart notes from the orange and especially lemon flavours which are here, but hidden behind the rich malt and hops. Aftertaste is crisp, quite deep, pretty complex and still balanced nicely wiht a bit of the tartness here, but very oaty, dry and bitter from the hops. Overall, a great balance throughout with a ton of flavours, yet very drinkable - definitely not showing Imperial Status (aside from the richness of the oat malts), but great complexity - well worth trying to find and bring it back across all of American AND Canada - like I did, no matter if you like the style or not! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Broadway Liqour in South Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 01-July-2022 for CA$5,00 sampled at my house here in Washington on 19-August-2022.

Dark amber, lasting beige head. Nice cinnamon vanilla nose, cinnamon more prominent in palate. Sweet with orange notes and good lacing

Dark brown. Thin head. The aroma is chocolatey with some banana. I have had several banana beers in the past few years and none had much banana character because it all ferments out. This is more like Mongozo or Chapeau, and that is not a good thing. The stout itself has the usual richness associated with Twin Sails pastry stouts, but the artificial banana just sort of floats in overtop. Like putting a squirt of mayonnaise on top of a gorgeous slab of toro or serving a 40 year old Glenfarclas over ice, it just downgrades what would otherwise by a damn fine experience. I get that they needed to do something to help move some old stout, but trust me the audience for this type of beer would prefer a 'double barrel' variant than an artificial flavouring variant.

Dark brown. No head though. Doesn't look right. Lots of coconut, weak base that offers maybe some toastiness but nothing else - the coconut needs some dark malt, hop, residual sugar -something so it doesn't taste like suntan lotion. Balance is a thing, but not in this beer.

Hazy dull amber with no head. Not much going on appearance-wise. Tart, actually a bit bracing, stone fruit and the vinous notes come through cleanly. Still, this is just too sharp.

Tart, slightly vinous, has a medium lactic character, some stone fruit but it's not fully coming together. Looks dull and muddled with no head.

Amber, slight haze. Lots of C hop on the nose, and palate. Fairly bitter. Pine and citrus hop. Good balance for classic pale.

Super crazy deep purple, indigo and deep muddied blue coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall light purple, lavender coloured head that fades fairly slowly, without leaving a lace at all - crazy looking, but absolutely beatiful. Aroma of strong lactose, funky grassiness, alcohol, bunches of wheat, sweaty socks (yes, really - odd!!!), a kick of apples and of course some blueberries - all strong in the nose, at least. Medium-bodied; Fairly thin in terms of malt here without any real wheat qualities, but some light and tart blueberries are here, but no bitterness, hops or pungency - this is quite thin. Aftertaste is pretty bland as well, with some lactose and icing sugar as the strongest notes, but nothing too pungent here and nothing complex. Overall, sadly, this is all about the look and nose here - the flavour and palate is deeply disappointing and like most others, not an IPA at all! I'm happy to have tried this and especially LOOKED at it, but not worth grabbing if you are packing it in a suitcase and flying back home - just drink it right away! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Broadway Liqour in South Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 01-July-2022 for CA$5,50 sampled at my house here in Washington on 26-July-2022.

355mL can, pours a deep dark amber brown with a medium beige head. Nose is full of winter spices -- particularly vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon -- with a toasted bready malt backbone. Flavour is sweet, malty and spicy, with plenty of caramel, toasted bready malt, light cinnamon, some vanilla, and a hint of nutmeg. Medium-bodied, just heavy enough to be able to support the spices, which are reasonably balanced. I'm not generally a fan of these types of spiced winter ales unless you've got a much bigger beer base, and this isn't an exception; but, for what it is, it's not bad.
