Needed a beer after a long car ride with the family to Niagara. Luckily the LCBO accommodates. Pours a pinkish color with a foamy head that take a while to dwindle. Smell is kind of slight, but definitely some sour razz and a little bit of lactose. Tartness is right up front on the tongue. Then a Sour Patch Kid blue raspberry tart. Milky lactose comes along, too. Sourness stays all the way through.

A deep dark stout with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with coffee grind, musty character, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light coffee notes, alcohol warmth, very nice.

Clean, mid golden-yellow colour with a big, frothy white head, long retention and full creamy, foamy lacing all-around. An interesting nose with the blend of pine cones West Coast style and the spicy Pils grains, all mildly done. The same continues into the taste. Show a tad unfiltered at one point. A wet mouthfeel with a very slow building drying finish. An interesting hybrid of West Coast with the piney-caramel notes, and a Pilsner and its spicy-grainy, yet refreshing overall.

Second West Coast IPA of the night (the other being Collective Arts Summit Peak). This one is fairly clean, golden colour with an amber hue. The head is frothy, warm-white with decent retention and sticky lacing clouds. Some good piney nose with a caramel malt base, a touch of rye-spiciness, yeast and citrus. The mouthfeel is wet, and the dryness in the end is soft, easy. Flavours are piney, caramel malts, good grassy hoppiness and a tad yeastiness. A little truer on the West Coast-style IPA, but a little less special than the Summit Peak.

Can from the LCBO. Lightly hazed pale copper with a small shot lived white cap that produces spotty lace. Nose is citrus, pine and melon with some light grains. Light fruity sweetness with a medium pine and grapefruit bitterness. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation

Taste: caramel, toffee, somewhat artificial (but not disgusting), medium body, moderately sweet.
Overall: not bad.

A high light tan head with spotty lacing. Nose is well roasted dark coffee, some chocolate and a hint of fruity hops. Dense and surprisingly slick for a 4.5%er. The roasted coffee and malt continues into the taste profile. Dark chocolate, chocolate milk, citrus hops, and caramel round out a really well crafted stout.
