pale golden color. Frothy white head. Sweet tangerine and candied apricots in the nose. Surprised how sweet this is. Oh wow, this is more like eating liquid candy with some bitterness than beer. The hops shine so nicely against a surprisingly sweet rich malty backbone, muscat tangerines apricots cherries. Wow a true melange if various fruit. This rocks

Tap at Koumin. Copper colored with light haze and a thick low head. Spicy hop nose, grapefruit, minerals, reminds me of Simcoe. Nice grapefruit / orange flavor, light tropical notes. Minerals and spices. Medium sweet. Light, with nice carbonation and well balanced. Dig it.

Tap at Komachi. Clear golden with a low head. Nose is minerally citrus, grapefruit mostly, some dryish stone fruit. Rich citrus flavor, snappy crackery malt, a bit of soft, ripe tropical fruit flavor. Nice sweetness in the middle palate then finished dry and crisp. Lovely fruit, rich, crisp malt. Great.

One Hop Pale - Comet 5.8% This copper colored pale ale has a nice light beige head and a big fruity aroma that gives me a semi-tropical prickly pear in the aroma - it smells great. Medium bodied with a bit of a pithy citrus rind in the aftertaste. The taste is a bit more bitter featuring fruit (citrus) rinds, kind of like the basis for a limoncello or something. This is really taste and I’m guessing part of a single hop series I didn’t know TDM 1874 was doing. Maybe they just started it?

Tap at Takanoya. Lovely fruit nose, grapefruit mostly, some white grape. Bright golden color. Clear. Nice fruity sweetness, grapefruit, stone fruits, minerals. Silky and a bit oily, crisp and not heavy for a big ipa. Quite nice stuff.

Tap at Takanoya. Brilliant gold with a bit of haze. big tropical fruit nose, grapefruit, orange. Crisp malt. Sweet tropical fruit and citrus flavor, peppery, orange, juicy but not in the NE way. There is some stinky durian or over-ripe mango in there too. Good.

2018 version at Takanoya, 6%. Toasty malt nose, chocolate, some miso. Deep brown with orange tints. Very toasty flavor, dark chocolate, light caramel, miso, nice bitter hop finish. Good stuff.

Tap @ iBRREW Sinbashi. Pours light yellow, even watery and with very little foam on top. Light citrus nose, some herbal kick there, lime peels and a hint of juniper. Taste has good light citrus all over, herba are quite strong but not overpowering, it still tastes like beer. Refreshing overall. Well made.

slightly hazy pale golden color. Nice frothy white head. Very lime forward gose with decent saltiness in the background, but not as tart as some might expect - though I am fine with that. Light body, excellent G&T notes. Super refreshing, light medium tartness. The lime shines. Perfectly balanced. Amazing summer beer. Could somewhat be mistaken for a G&T!? Don’t think so but love it.

Turbid muddy amber golden color. Dank dank nose that is slightly grassier than expected but good dried mango character. Dank mouth with low medium bitterness. Tons of white gummy bears, mangoes, muscat and a touch of grassiness. Mouthfeel is ok, it’s not as smooth as some NEIPAs, but isn’t over carbonated like other. Carbonation could be turned down a half notch. Nice white gummies and mango in the finish. Not mind blowing but certainly one of the better NEIPAs in japan
