Bottle Clear and very light color for the style. Looked more like a brown ale. Small off white head and only spotty lacing. Dark roast aromsa and a slightly sour hint. Thin feel but smooth and plenty of woody roasted flavors. Aftertaste was of old campfires. Not bad

Pour is a bright gold with a white head. Aroma is slightly malty and hoppy the way a good pils should be. Flavor is a nice mix of malts and hops. Porb one of the best pils I have had except for the original.

Cloudy strawberry blonde color with a frothy, sticky white lace - herbal nose, but candylike as well - very mild for a barleywine - grainy, French ale qualities and a mild sweetness - slightly astringent, with hops that don’t balance well - not all that good of a barleywine.

Bottle. Apple, banana, and clove aroma. Light yellow color - clear with little head and moderate efferverscence. Sweet banana and wheat malt flavor with hints of peach. High acidity. Very good for an American Weizen but average overall.

Original rating, July 4, 2005.Bottle, beer 4 of 31 for American Beer Month. Nice, sweet smell resolves to a cola-colored pour under a briefly fizzy head. Taste includes impressions of mocha java, black malts, and a bit of sourness. And maybe it’s just impression from the name of the style, but I also get something of a milk aftertaste. Alcohol makes itself known, too. Rating 7-4-6-4-15. I think I can stand by this rating after the bottled Nitro version.

Lots of hops for a bitter. Aroma of a fruity ipa. Dark red color. Taste of bitter hops, some fruit as well. I am surprised to see this classified as a bitter. While drinking it I was sure it was a pale ale.

2005 bottle from Julios consumed 5/28/2005 at OldGrowth’s BBQ. Crystal clear pour, per usual from these guys, with a small light beige head, not long retained, with no lacing. Color is auburn-amber. Light notes of cream and hints of dry bitter hops in the nose, no real flavor, just earthy-like dryness and some fruity yeast notes. Flavor is initially lightly sweet, with some base malts and then a hops bitterness, dry and boring,with no flavor other than a passing, dry citrus. Hard, filtered mouthfeel, fizzy, uneven, forced carbonation, little complexity, bit thin on the end, with a medium-light body overall.

Pour is completly black with no head. Aroma is burnt malts. Flavor in mine is very weak. you get some roasted malts but everything goes down too smooth to get a good taste. Pretty weak for a stout.

Bottled on 12/28/2004. Dark brown body, with light magenta tinges on the edges. Clear, highly filtered. Head is gone very quickly, though some of it clings to the edges. Smells earthy, roasty, some sweet caramel and hints of lactose. Maybe some chocolate twizzlers. Flavor tastes of sweet caramel, light roast. Finishes with a light sugary-cream flavor. Very simple flavor profile. Just mainly sweet caramel. With the forced carbonation, I get hints of cola. Though after 5 months, the carbonation is tolerable. Not particularly impressive body, thanks to the heavy filtration. Good basic maltiness with a touch of hops flavor in the background. Ends with a bit of dark chocolate and light roast. I think I’ve now mentioned caramel and light roast about 10 times in this review. Left hand needs to get with the program and stop filtering the hell out of their beers. I havent had a substantial one yet.

Pours a clear brown with lots of red highlights under a frothy head. Doughy chocolate aroma. The flavor is sweet overall with a few chocolate notes int he finish. A bit thin. Average.
