Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Yep. Lovely, dark malts. Coffee bean. Light cocoa. Sweet, fruit loaf taste. Too much BIPA bitterness. Just a bit lacking in balance. But bring on the aged stuff, and I can imagine good things.

Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, dark yellow. Lots of carbonation keeps a big, fat, fluffy, white head alive. Aroma has grassy hop. Light, peachy fruit. Some mineral. Taste is light, juicy bitter. Light dry. Crisp, sharp palate. (Better once the bubbles had calmed down). Finish is crisp bitter. Very good all dayer.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden on 6th July 2014. Black with tan head and scattered lacing spots. Rich and intense roasty aroma with coffee and plum harmonising. Intense roastiness and fine grapefruit in-mouth with plum and nuttiness - hazelnut. Roasty nutty and bitter finish is long lasting, rich and intense with spicy notes. Engaging texture and plenty of body. Truly exquisite. I had a second!

Bottle. It pours a more or less clear body under a small, dense light beige head. The aroma is is quite sweetish and sugary, with a decent fruityness. Alcohol and some acetone too. Bourbon notes. It’s full-bodied and warming with a nice carbonation level. Pale malts, white sugar and some resiny bitterness in the flavor. Lasting bourbonish alcoholic finish with white sugar and fruityness. Not the kind of beer I prefer putting on barrels, but it’s quite decent anyway. 140724
