Bottled. Deep orange, clear, with a thick head. Rich wheat nose, peaches, oranges. Medium sweet with peach and orange, rich wheat malt, nicely spicy. Very well attenuated so not cloying. Well done.

A beautiful golden amber barleywine with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light grassy hops, light vinous character, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, alcohol warmth, light treacle. On tap at Popeye.

Tap at Komachi. Hazy, pale, pastel yellow, low head. Typical. Funky tropical fruit aroma, with some interesting resiny notes that make it more interesting. Sweet, but not crazy, tropical, resiny, citrus. Decent. Not great but did not disappoint.

I’ve been meaning to try this for awhile but bottles are in the 3000¥ range I believe.
Ise Kadoya Bourbon Barrel Aged Shadowplay 2024 11.5%
Deep inky black with ruby highlights. Bourbon, oak, treacle and chocolate cake in the aroma. Full bodied with a prickly carbonation. The taste starts off chocolate syrup, then barrel character and heat come through before you got chocolate cake. Sweeter than I expected with less bourbon heat.
I’m really digging this and find it exceptionally well balanced. Would it be worth the high price rate for a bottle? Probably but I’ll stick to 990¥ for 200ml at CBM Porta.

Always love starting the day with a BBA stout >10%. Lots of coconut and some cinnamon spice. Barrel very present. Chocolate is strong, touch of autolysis. Smooth, touch of roasted banana in the palate as well

Pine and grapefruit. Pretty balanced soft doughy malt. Much better than most of the bottled stuff I’ve had from these guys

Tap at Komachi. 10% this year. Pitch black, low head. Nose is chocolate, soy sauce, light roast, light coffee. Sweet but not crazy, dark chocolate, soy sauce umami, thick and a bit heavy bit dangerously drinkable.
