Bottle. Small head with short duration. Color is light amber. Aroma is mainly hops, but also some barnyard malt. Taste is much better and real good balanced with a decent amount of hops. Nice bitter finish.

Bottle. Light amber / orange color with a average good lacing off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light hoppy, moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to lively.

Bottle: Medium amber pour with a small white head. Aroma is typical malt and hops, sweeter than hoppy. Taste is more malty than I like in an ESB, but still had some floral and fruity hops. Not bad, but needs more hops.

Pours an amber, whisky color with a small white head. Aroma is sweet, slight hops, maybe a little alcohol, and some fruits. Mouth is watery with little to no carbonation. Flavor is nearly non-existent untill the end. Mild hop notes, slightly sweet fruit, and maybe a little malt thrown in. Expected better, sorely dissapointed.

(50 cl bottle from COOP supermarket) Fresh flowery and hoppy scent mixed with some pipe tobacco and lemon juice. Clear brown color, tan head. Thin but nice hoppy and tobacco taste. Thin mouthfeel, low bitterness.

500ml bottle. Amber/red color. Light aroma. Flavor was pretty decent, compared to the aroma. Spices, and malts seem to be most of what I found in the flavor.

500ml bottle during a social gathering at Blå Rock Cafe in Tromsø (I also had a very fine Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA, a decent London Pride and an Anchor Porter to finish off some happy hours). The Bah Humbug came first and presented itself in a clear, deep amber colour with some fading white foam. Light hoppy and spicy to the nose. Taste of caramel malt and fruits overlaid by cinnamon. Vague bitter ending. Medium mouthfeel (19.12.2006).

Wow, here’s a surprise! Usually bottled English ales turn up boring, oxidized and dead. Typically we don’t get the more characterful of their beers. This one is an exception. Poured a true golden color with a big fluffy head, then settled into a nicely balanced ale. Spritely styrian hops were surprisingly citric in nature, with a lemon and orange zest character. The orange was perhaps a synergistic effect between the hops and some esters, and a biscuity/cookie malt base. Really well put together and a nice drinker.
