Bottled. Brown beer with a very strong head. The aroma is rich and very mulled wine/Port like, and the flavour is caramel based, warming and slightly spiced. Overall a pretty good Winter beer.

Cask at Hobgoblin Cantebury. This yeasty nose, some malt and thin finish. Not at its best

Bottle. Certainly better than when I have had this on draught. Yeast and roast coffe on nose with good full malt in mouth and good hop finish

Cask at Chambers, Folkestone, Kent. Reddish brown best bitter with good malty fruit on nose and in the flavour. Fruitiness gives it a bit of a sweet feel but there are enough hops on the end to balance it. A decent best bitter.

500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. Golden colour, fluffy head diminishing rapidly. Moderate but pleasant hoppy aroma with citrussy elements and some toffee. Flavour is rather lager-like, with a grapefruity bitterness with some metallic notes in the finish. I started drinking it far too cold, improves a bit as it warms up, but not much. Reasonably refreshing, but no masterpiece.

Bottled (BB 12/2005)
Honey golden color, creamy off-white head. Flowery hops in the aroma. Hard metallic malt character, ashy flavor with flowery hops. Light hoppy bitter aftertaste. Unbalanced.

Bottled. Caramel coloured beer with a realtively strongly hopped caramel aroma, and a heavily caramel bitter flavour. Overall a lot better than most Wychwood efforts.

A brown beer with a disappearing beige head. The aroma is very hoppy (goldings) combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is dry with notes of roasted malt, caramel, and hops.
