Cask. Pours an almost clear amber with an off-white lacing head. Distinct and somewhat leathery hop aroma. Medium body, dry nuttiness but completely dominated by the flowery aroma hops leaving a solid biterness. Unfortunately also a fusty edge. 180110

Cask-conditioned at the Rake, Southwark 04/02/10. Deep gold in colour with a decent white head. Aroma of citrus hops, hay and sweetish malts. Easy drinking for the ABV with biscuit malt and citrus flavours, and a hoppy, dry finish. Good.

Cask at the Wenlock Arms, London on 20th January 2010. Gold with diminishing white head. Richly hoppy with a strong grassy bite and thick engaging texture. Slight savoury notes. A strong, deep and penetrating hoppy finish. An exquisite IPA

Bottle 50 cl. Pours dark brown - almost black - with a vague tint of orange and a rough beige head. Aroma og hard roasted malts and dark, dried fruits. Decent body, hard roasted malts, vanilla and dried fruits. Malt bitter finish. 190110

Bottle from Bitter Virtue, Southampton, purchased and consumed 17-01-10 Pours black with nice soft beigey head. Aroma was wonderfully chocolatey, nice woodland wafts as well. Roasted flavours come straight to the fore but this has a really good no prisoners type of bitterness, the finish is long and dry, its got a good tang, some tobbacco, nice, nice stuff. Cask at NWAF 2009. A dark brown beer with a bubbly tan head. The aroma has notes of both sweet and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of dark chocolate and roasted malt, leading to a dry and roasted finish, where the chocolate note lingers.
