Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from the shop in Dalston. Pours clear brown with a tight, billowing tan cream topping. Light sweet flavour with notes of rounded semi-dark malts, festive spices, subtle earth bitterness, toast. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Finishes with notes of toasted brown bread, cinnamon, all spice. Nice stuff, really, overall.

Bottle from Sainsbury's Supermarket, Salford. Dark clear mahogany with a small head. Mildly floral with spices growing in its aftertaste, but easy enough to sup within its style.

Bottle from Eltham Sainsburys. Black pour with a beige head. Cinnamon, chocolate, smoke & toffee aromas. Taste is lots of cinnamon, cloves, toffee, caramel, light smoke action. Spicy sweet malarkey.

Can from Sainsbury's Supermarket, Blackley. Golden with a small head. Easy enough given its strength but certainly not thin. Mildly malty and low bitterness.

Bottle from Sainsbury's Supermarket, Salford. Copper with a small glow and a head. Slightly porteresque in taste, there's some lovely caramel malts in here too that provide a sweetness. Very flavoursome seasonal brew.

[75cl bottle from Sainsbury’s, Bracknell.] A hazy golden amber pour with a tight cream head; fruity yeast aroma; sharply bitter citrus zest to start, then a sweet orangey body with a trace of honey; then some yeast and herbs to finish. Very pleasant.
