Deep red color, good creamy off-white head. Very berryish aroma - cranberries, strawberries. Medium-bodied. Flavor is also berryish, and I taste some cork too. Bitter, slightly tart finish. Expected more, more less just an ordinary Belgian style strong amber ale.

Bottle, 33cl, from Det Bette Ølhus. It pours a huge, creamy off-white head that after some time are reduced to a normal head size. Some lacings are left as the slightly hazy, golden colored beer is drank. The aroma has a little unclean rubbery, chemical touch, but it’s mostly fruity and sugary. The flavor too has a little rubbery touch, but as in the aroma, it’s mostly sugary and fruity. Mostly tropical fruits like peaches, banana and lemon, but there’s also a touch of green apples. Warming, full-bodied and fizzy, with a lasting alcohol warmth. Sugary and fruity too in the end. A drinkable one, but not a beer I’ll return to. 100815

bottle. Clear chestnut colour, mid-sized off-white head. Aroma of sherry. Full-bodied, malty, lots of dreid fruit, caramel and sherry, perhaps also port wine. The sherry flavours together with the shy hints of alcohol make this beer a smooth and delicious winter beer.

2007 vintage. I enjoyed this at Delilah’s 12th annual Winter Beer Tasting in Chicago, IL. Lighter and more crisp than other winter ales of it’s kind, enjoyable but just standard.

Bottled (from beerplanet.eu). Amber colour, mediumsized beige foamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, some slight yeastyness, spices as well as some slight notes of nuttyness. Flavour is caramel, wood, some yeast, spices, mild acidic notes as well. A bit too sweet for my likes.

Nice big fluffy head, loads of carbonation and a modest yellow colour.Aroma of tin and carbon. Tastes like burning plastic, a sour, rotten taste. Very bitter in a bad way. Dry finish.

Bottle at DØE tasting, Randers. Frothy of-white good mostly deminishing head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. No fruits present. Light bitter week flavor. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate. very boring beer.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, ruby brown colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet and toasty malty aroma with loads of caramel, a rather restrained fruit character and a tinge of earthy herbal hops. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Moderately toasted malty and slightly sugary taste with caramel and shy fruity and spicy notes; sweet malt-accented finish with a tinge of dried fruits and discreetly hoppy spice. Likeable but also a bit one-sided brew. 04.XI.10
