Description
Started brewing as West Berkshire Brewery at the Pot Kiln, Frilsham, Yattendon.
We create well-balanced and flavourful beers. Employing traditional techniques and championing British ingredients, we have a range of beers and styles that showcase the very best of British beer. We have won over 45 awards since we started brewing in 1995.
In 2021 the brewery was rescued from administration by Yattendon Estates and the name was changed to Renegade Brewery.

From cask at The Grapes, Oxford, Oxfordshire, on tour to 22 southern counties with OGJ and EE 03.01.19. Clear copper. Small head. Fine taste of pale malt, dark crystal malt, dried berries and figs. Slightly oxydized and served too warm, i.e. room temperature and not cellar temperature.

500ml bottle. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with lots of bubbles. The aroma is buttery yeast, gluey malt, light citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light, crisp, fresh, light fruity, light pepper spice, hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

500ml bottle. Poured a slightly hazy light amber with a short-lived frothy white head. The aroma is doughy malt, tropical citrus fruit light hop. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a smooth, malt, citrus fruit, super light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a smooth, malt, slightly watery, light biscuit dough, big woody hop bitter palate with a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Sample@GBBF2018, London, with the Malmö crew - fuzzy amber coloured pour with a white head. Citrus fruity hoppy and malty, tangerine and lemon, citrus rind, pine, some caramel , hoppy bitter finish.

330ml bottle from Spotted Dog, Darlington. Golden amber colour, white foam head and fruity grassy aroma. Taste is sweet malty, grains, cardboard, fruity and with grassy bitterness. Light bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry sweet grassy finish. OK.

330ml bottle from Spotted Dog, Darlington. Orangey golden colour, white foam head leaving alittle lacing and tropical fruit hoppy aroma. Taste is malt caramel, alittle biscuit, with tangy fruity grapefruit hop bitterness. Light bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy light bitter finish. Quite drinkable

Cask at the Old Suffolk Punch. Dark brown, clear, one finger foamy head. Toasty malty aroma follows through to the taste. Nutty and sweet.

Keg @ Pint Shop, Birmingham. Pours golden amber, small white topping. Lightly hoppy nose, pine, soft fruit. Medium bodied, semi-sweet malts, crisp hop, pine, soft fruit, bitter close. Not particularly exciting but it's a fine sessionable pale.
