Definitely a bitter rather than an IPA. Acceptable but nothing to write home about. Pint in the Saracen's Head, Towcester.

Old reviews from 13-04-15 - 330ml Strong Suffolk Dark Ale, part of compilation box, also previously had this as 500ml bottle Strong Suffolk Vintage Ale which is one & the same it seems. Pours near black with a beige foamy head. Aromas & tastes of dark fruits, toffee, wood, hints of spice & malt. Medium body. Moderate bitter finish. Very enjoyable.

On cask at Pier Head Tavern, Lamlash - Cloudy golden colour with a white head. A hoppy, slightly malty aroma. The taste is hoppy, malty, and fruity with citrus at the back. Pleasant enough.
