(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 24 Nov 2016) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and dark fruit. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, black coffee, red fruit, elderberries and a generous cacao bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made stout, with an interesting berry touch. Very nice.

Malty, roasted nose with coffee, liquorice, black rye bread and a touch of tamarind. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, liquorice, cacao, blackberries, tamarind and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Solid and well made porter. Very nice.

Fruity, slightly malty taste with citrus, grapefruit, lemon, biscuits and a balanced citric bitterness. Light body, quite dry. On the thin side, but fresh and highly drinkable. Nice one.

Malty, fruity taste with notes of bread, hay, grapefruit, spicy yeast and a balanced floral bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Fresh and spicy saison. Quite nice.

Cask-conditioned on gravity at the Exeter Winter Ales Festival 14/1/2017. Near black in colour, with a moderately-sized, off-white, head. Toasty stout, with plenty of coffee bean character, and a touch of chocolate before a dry, roasted malt, finish. Good.

500ml Bottle - Black in colour. Elderberries, chocolate and coffee in the aroma. Smooth taste with elderberries, blackcurrant, coffee and plain chocolate. The elderberries are very noticeable yet not overwhelming and they blend quite well.

Flaske 500ml kjøpt på Hops and Crafts, Exeter. Delt med Rune på Great Western Hotel 29 Sep 16. Ultramørk amber / svart. Lett farget filmskum. Lett sjokoladearoma. Smaken skarprøstet malt med innslag av kaffe & sjokolade. Tørr bitter avslutning.

Cask at the Greyfriars, Reading. A hazy pale straw colour with a ring of white head; sourish tropical fruit aroma; wheaty body with a sharp tropical fruit taste - think under ripe papaya; then a sharp fruity finish with lingering biscuity undertones. Rather odd.

500ml bottle from the Brewery Online Shop. Pours black with a tight beige head. Nice lacing. Aromas of blackcurrant, chocolate. Taste is light herbal, more blackcurrant and chocolate. Some roasted bitterness to balance things. Good depth of flavour. Full bodied. Good.
