Description
We create our own beer recipes – with homemade malt (BOM means Belgische Originele Moutbakkerij or Belgian Original Maltbakery) forming the basis for a secret composition of ingredients, called a “BOM package” – that we brew according to the principles of a gypsy-brewery. The Triporteur beers are our point of departure and our basic beers. Besides those, we also launch a special beer line with once-off products.

Can @ Broadway Dive Bar, Manhattan (April 2023). Pours clear reddish brown with a small foamy beige head, sharp oak aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter caramel taste with woodsy flavor and alcohol undertones, smooth thin body, long finish with faint alcohol aftertaste. Not terribly boozy!

Tap at Sir James Pub. Quite flat...tastes old, in poor shape. Funky and soured, and odd, imperfect beer to say the least. Boozy, leathery, red fruit, vanilla. Not that good at all, quite poor for the style.

Bottle, 9.2% as Triporteur Belgian Oak Vintage 2021. Aroma of light and sweet caramel. Quite vinous. The flavour is nicely sweet and caramelly. Like the aroma, light and sweet caramel. Mild bitterness to balance. And loads of vanilla, probably from the oak.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a hazy golden colour with a medium sized creamy white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of yellow fruits. Taste is hoppy and also a touch sour with more ripe yellow fruits and also a citrus tang, apples, a little bit of sweetness, peppery spice and some warming alcohol. Bottled. Hazy amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some fruity and mild herbal tones with caramel and mild wood. Flavour is caramel, fruits, hops, yeast and some mild bitter and earthy tones. Not that sour actually.
