Almanac was founded in 2010 by Damian Fagan and Jesse Friedman, two avid home-brewers who bonded over their mutual appreciation for California farmers markets. They set out to brew beers inspired by California’s rich agricultural bounty. After nearly seven years of partner brewing, we moved into our very own 30,000 square-foot production & aging facility located on a historic naval airbase on Alameda Island in San Francisco Bay.

16oz can, canned on 24th May 2023 and drank at my daughters in Laguna Hills on 25th July 2023, so only two months old. Clean and clear golden body, short lived white head. Refreshing and thirst quenching, rice, corn and even barley might have been used, not many hops thrown in though. Typical Mexican style Lager, so I am being unkind maybe, scored objectively.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is earthy/bretty and deep inhale provides a sourish note. Med body. Flavor is bretty/earthy, but there's a dry fruity sour aspect in the finish. Good flavor.

Was there some sort of Bollywood/ Border-Gavaskar Trophy tie in here? Can. Nearly clear amber with a 1/2cm white head. Aroma of autumnal fruit, boot polish, twigs, old lemons, boiled oranges. Not all that funky. Light bodied. Lightly acidic, some crackers, more prominent citrus than suggested by the aroma. Modest bitter finish is snappy enough. Deeply refreshing. Good.
Bottled 9/4/2015.

Tip Tap draught, 5/21/23. Plummy-violet. Small, off-white head. Good clarity. Nose is playful, fruity plums with brett and light lactic acidity. Crackery malts, light mineral and more funk on the finish. Soft, tart, big brett and plum acidity, but well-aged and easygoing with sot, well-attenuated malts. Low oak, low acidity. Great plum expression. This is much more interesting and fruit-forward than the tropical punch version.

Solid Kölsch, offering up bright and crisp grainy notes laced with toasted bread, followed by undertones of apple and lemon, leading to a mild floral bitterness on the back end with a hint of salinity. Very easy to make a can disappear. Nice.
