Sampled at Zythos Beer Festival 2018. Dark brown color beige head. Nice dark roast coffee aroma. Taste is boozy roast.

330ml bottle from Les Bieres de Celestin, Lille. Pours black, small tan ring atop. Aroma has good dark malt, espresso roast, bitter dark chocolate. Oily palate. Taste is medium to light bodied, emerging astringent coffee roast, some pleasant unimposing chilli warmth providing a nice kick, though the vanilla is barely noticeable. Some bitter dark chocolate mingling in the shadows. Everything seems to work well, though could do with a bit more malt body. Very enjoyable.

Zwart bier met mooie bruine schuimkraag die lang blijft staan. Helaas is de smaak is te veel door een brand of rooksmaak beïnvloed waardoor de overige smaak nuances niet meer goed naar voren komen. Verder iets van druiven en anijs.

Bottle @ home. Ugly murky pale yellow-orangy color, no head. Smell and taste malts, citrussy orangepeel hops, citrussy hop bitter. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Meh as an IPA imo. Too much tart-bitterness imo.

Bottle from Prik &Tik, Maldegem. Dark brown/black colour, brown foam. Medium carbonation. Roasted malts, coffee, some syrupy notes. Drinkable. Nice.

28/04/2018 – 10cl glass shared with an international ratebeer crew @ZBF2018 Black, small tanned head. Nose is dark malts, some coffee, some chocolate. Taste is creamy, some roast, some nuts, chocolate, bit liquor. Very nice but no clear maple.
