Cask at The Royston, Broadstairs, 21/03/2025.
Clear golden with a just off white cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is lemon rind, straw, airy malts, grass, herb.
Taste comprises mixed citric zest, grass, faint lime, breads.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close doused with light juicy come grassy hop bitterness.
Decent enough easy drinking pale.

Not bad for a Spoons beer. Moderately sweet, some semi-ripe citrus fruits, mellow rindy bitterness. Easy drinking ale.

Cask up the White Lady. Pours near-clear yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of peach and nectarine. Taste has tinned mandarin on top. Juicy finish.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Golden-amber with a very light haze, mild carbonation and a lasting white head. Good carbonation again - the cellaring at BoBs (as locals call this pub) is significantly better than when I visited last week for some reason. Tropical fruit - pineapple and nectarine - up front, with a touch of golden caramel. Orange blossom notes emerge, and there's sweet pink grapefruit in the finish. The flavours (and the haze!) are a bit light for a NEIPA, but the rich, mellow mouthfeel makes this very pleasant and relaxing to drink. Enjoyable, albeit sitting on the borderline between a NEIPA and a gold.

Cask handpull at County Hotel haze gold colour lasting white. Not as good as I was hoping as I normally love Oakham beers. Neither an apa nor a neipa. Somewhere between the two. Some tropical hop fruit. Some pineapple flavour. Light bitterness on the finish. It's ok. Decent condition and temperature. Just lacking a big of pazazz

Pint at the Guildford Arms. Pours clear pale yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of banana and lemon. Taste adds some tropical fruit. Light bitter finish. Nice.

Cask at Briar Rose, Birmingham. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a minimal almost white head and excellent lacing. The aroma has floral hops and citrus with a hint of pineapple. In the mouth it is sweet with a creamy texture. Floral hops and citrus prominent again with oats also featuring. Hints of tropical fruits and mango come later. Sweetness is still there in the finish. This is decent enough – but nowhere near as hazy as you would expect an NEIPA to be.
