Handpull cask at the Ale Wagon, Leicester. Light to mid-gold and clear with a spotty off-white head. Light hedgerow aroma, some grassy character. Taste comes alive with a candied fruity sweetness followed quickly by astringent bitterness. Wow. Light body, soft carbonation. British as hell and all the better for it.

Light sweet flavour with notes of citric hops, apricot, peach, tangerine peel, lean pale malts, nips of grassy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Citric finish, a little oily pine, citrus peel, otter grass, husky pale grain. Solid.

Cask at Flowerpot, Derby. Pours almost black with minimal cream head and good lacing. There’s roasted malts and dark fruits in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet, smooth and fruity with roasted malts, mixed (bitter and floral)hops, dark fruits and traces of citrus and blackcurrants. Later on oats and traces of alcoholic strength come through as well leading to a dry, fruity and slightly bitter finish. This is excellent ! Wonderfully complex and pretty much uncategorisable.

Dark brown with a frothy white head and a soft fruit malt aroma. Fruity and malty, just a little bit thin, with some subtle spicy hop bitterness in the finish
