Cask at Bree Louise. Pours a pale yellow with a thin head. Hoppy nose with citrus and straw. Sweet flavor with light cereal and lots of hop bitterness, lemony. Medium in body with fine carbonation. Crisp, lingering bitters. Almost like an IPA. Very good.

Medium offwhite head. Hazy pale yellow body. Golden fruity floral aroma with resiny strawy notes. Lovely clarity and harmony. Dry-sweet resiny floral fruity taste with strawy herbal notes. Faintly watery dusty mouthfeel. Light body. Dry, faintly acidic, lemony strawy resiny aftertaste. Very nice, and extremely sessionable. (0.5pt at The Rake, London.)

Cask-conditioned at the Wellington, Birmingham 31/08/10. Deep gold in colour with a slight white head. Big, tropical fruit aroma with some sweetness. Flavour was big on the fruit, with grapefruit, tangerines and pineapple with a hoppy,dry finish. Good, but a bit too much going on for me.

Cask-conditioned at the Barton Arms, Birmingham 31/08/10. Reddish amber with a thin white head. Sweet, malty aroma with a whiff of pine. Flavour was malty up front, with some berry fruits before the familiar grapefruit kicked in, leading to a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

Cask-conditioned at the Barton Arms, Birmingham 31/08/10. Pale gold with a decent white head. Grapefruit aroma with a touch of pineapple too. Flavour was similarly dominated by grapefruit with a suggestion of resin in the dry finish. Another very good beer from a consistent brewer.

Cask handpump consumed at The Three Fishes, Shrewsbury 28.08.10 Pours gold with a large white head. To start there is lovely softened grapefruit that contributes to a wonderful bitterness, but then you get some cooked lemons, itโs crisp and refreshing and really interesting drinking this side by side with the Salopian Jigsaw. Tricky to rate in a pub that is totally rammed with a Morris rapper side just about to dance in the pub. A6 A5 T7 P4 Ov13 3.5

Clear gold beer with a little white head. Slightly sulphurous hop nose. Light dry palate. Light orangey hops but sulphur interferes again. Over dry finish. Expect better from Oakham.

Cask (handpump) @ KIT - Kelham Island Tavern, 62 Russell Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire England S3 8RW.Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, citrus, orange. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100118]

Cask (gravity) @ Flower Pot, 23-25 King Street, Derby, Derbyshire England DE1 3DZ.Clear dark black brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, hay, roasted, burnt, berry - black berries, tar, moderate hoppy, dusty hop flowers. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100117]

Cask handpull at The Barton Arms, Aston. Bit of earthy hop on the aroma. Lots of tangerine fruit. You can taste the alcohol which is not a good sign. Although others enjoyed this. It is not my favourite Oakham beer. And the other beers on the JHB, Bishops Farewell and the Citra were all so stunning, it rather put this in the shade.
