On cask. Appearance - opaque black with a thin beige head. Nose - liquorice, molasses and blackcurrant. Taste - blackberry, prune and molasses again. Palate - medium bodied, roasty finish. Overall - good stuff.

Cask (gravity) at Standing Order, Derby. Pours almost black with minimal cream head. There’s chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma. In the mouth it is creamy with a slight bitterness, with roasted malts again prominent alongside coffee grounds and chocolate. Some dark fruits can be detected later as well. Finish keeps the slight bitterness. This is rather nice.

Cask handpull at The Barrel Vaults St Pancras. Black beer. Lasting tan head. Oakham don't do a lot of stouts but when they do you,have to take notice. Its a citrus fruity charcoal stout. Lime on aroma. Charcoal stout with some dark fruits in the mouth. Then a dry citrus fruit finish. A bit odd. Fine but odd.

Cask up the White Lady, at 5%. Pours clear yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of lemon and grapefruit. Taste is more citrus and faint malt. Bitter finish.

Cask @ Cromwell's Tap House. Pours a generally clear gold, white head. Aroma of gentle tropical fruit, melon perhaps. Good Styrian Wolf expressions to taste, sweet leafy pine, fleeting tropical gummy notes, brisk bitter close. Nice.

Friday 16th February 2024, Prince of Wales, Shrewsbury; Cask Beer Festival. Hand-pulled half-pint. Clean golden body, white crown. Didn't take to this really, strange aroma and taste, most likely the lemongrass element. Nothing wrong with it, just not my thing.

Cask-conditioned at the Berkeley Rooms (JDW), Bristol 14/2/2024. Golden in colour, with a tight, white, head that left rings down the glass. Grassy hops, lots of tangerine and lychee character, crisp maltiness leading to a dryish finish. Enjoyable.
