(Cask at The Crown Charlton On Otmoor) Dark Beer, smooth and malty, Can’t say that I particularly like/dislike this beer but I do I get fed up after a pint and with no other choice have to switch to GK IPA. Not something I would dream of having a session on.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A pale orange-brown beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with very strong notes of caramel, and then some honey. The flavor is sweet with notes of honey and caramel, but also light flowery notes from the hops, leading to a dry honey end.

660ml bottle. Brown/red colour with beige head. Nice flowery hops and some fruity esters. Good hops throughout with dry tangy finish, certainly the hoppiest ale I have had from Brains and I must admit I was a bit surprised because I liked this more than I thought I would

Cask at Thomas Ingoldsby JDW Canterbury. Useful session beer, copper coloured with some floral hop and some fruity malt on nose. Not all embracing beer, but you could sink several and not notice.

Cask at County Hotel, Ashford, kent. Chestnut brown, light malty nose with some flowery hops. Good sweetish malt in mouth, leading to some red fruit malt and a dryish finish which is quite bitter. Off white head with good lacing

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF, 2004] A hazy amber beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of honey. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel.

[Cask at GBBF, 2004] A red-brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel and lesser notes of chocolate. The flavor is cask flat, sweet with notes of roasted malt, bitter hops, and hints of flowers leading to a dry end.

Cask conditioned at the Alexandra Hotel ("The Alex"), Derby. Copper coloured, moderate malty and caramel aroma. This is a malty "bitter" in the Welsh style, i.e. with very little actual bitterness, just some dusty hops in the finish. A slight acidity keeps it from being too sweet.
