750ml bottle pours a deep amber with some beige head. Nose has raspberry, tomato, malt, barrel. Flavor has oily hop, pepper too, raspberry, herbs. Woodsy. Full, spritzy finish. Quite woodsy.

Can. Day 7 from the Beer Republic Advent Calendar. Aroma has lactose and a coffee and liquorice streak. As stygian as a temptress' soul. Creamy foamy beige head. Mmm. Rich. Chocolate. A hint of liquorice. But smothered in creamy vanilla source and molasses. Thick bodied. Oily. Fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Big enjoyable stuff.

Cremiger malziger Antrunk, deutlich nach Laktose mit etwas störendem herb-blecherndem Einschlag. Etwas röstig, geringfügig bitter, schwacher und kurzer Abgang. OK. 9/9/8/8/11/8

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel, lactose and dried fruit, with touches of yeast. Bitter, roasty flavour with sweetish notes of lactose, yeast and caramel malt. Roasty aftertaste with notes of dried fruit and dark chocolate. Warming alcohol presence. Very nice.

Bottle, 9.1%. Milk chocolate aroma. Clear black colour. Very small head. The flavour has a good milk chocolate note. Late chocolate bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel.

Nitro version. 12 oz. can from H.E.B. Plus, Boerne, TX. Pours a pitch black color with a large, thick, light tan nitro head and great retention. Disappointingly fair lacing. Surprisingly faint roasted and chocolate aroma. Sweet milk chocolate and bitter dark chocolate flavors mixed together in equal amounts. You can taste some of the 9.1% ABV, but it’s fairly well hidden overall. Appropriately heavy body. Smooth and creamy nitro mouthfeel. Light to moderate bitterness. The bitterness and the ABV are a little more obvious as it warms. A well done imperial stout.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Black, small head. Aroma of salty caramel. Sweet with medium to full body and clean mouthfeel. I only get salted caramel and artificial sweetener. Obe dimensional and very basic, but at least not cloying.
