Description
Created in 2003 by Christophe and Alexia Noyon, the Brasserie Artisanale des 2 Caps, when it started, had a dual vocation: that of giving a new economic dimension to the small family farm to make it sustainable and that of maintaining the remarkable built heritage, that constitutes the Ferme de Belle Dalle.

Thanks to the work and passion of the men and women who compose it, it now has real know-how, which has been rewarded multiple times in competitions. Over the years, the quality and finesse of its beers have attracted a growing number of palates in search of authenticity.

0.75 litre cork and caged bottle: BBD 30 July 15. Taken by me to the January Shrewsbury bottle share meeting and split between five of us. Misty golden pour, with a lasting creamy head. Aroma has a mild nutty and bready malt feel. The flavour is more orange marmalade with less nuts and maltiness. I really liked this, one of the best French beers I have tried so far.

Bottle from Auchan supermarket in Calais. Ruby-black with a craggy beige head and a very light but prickly fizz. Creamy chocolate Horlicks to the front with a bit of black coffee, a waft of smoke and a slight sour and metallic note. Maybe some blackberry too. Sweetish up front but drying in the finish. The flavours are a little subdued but yeah, this is not bad.

Bottle at home in London - shared with Lyoli. Pours mostly clear yellow-gold with a creamy white head. Zesty lemon aroma with notes of doughy malts, some Belgian yeast, light grass and barnyard. Medium sweet flavor with ripe lemon, sugary dough, white bread, mild bitter straw, citrus peel. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes sweet with further doughy pale malts, white bread, some wheat flakes, lemon, Belgian yeast, mild citric tang. Pretty tasty overall, if a bit simplistic.
