Tap at Mellow Mushroom, Charlottesville, VA. Browinish amber, looks slightly clody, small head. Malty nose, with a typical amber smell with the addition of some hoppiness. A good amount of hops in the flavor to turn an ordinary amber into a very tasty brew. Not overpowering flavor can make this a nice session beer.

Dark brown body with a medium creamy tan head. Sweet nutty aroma with some light roasted malt. Sweet nutty flavor, a gentle roasted malt background and a bit of caramel.

The aroma was not overly strong, but definitely black cherry. It poured dark with a small cream head and good lacing. The taste was definitely black cherry with a smoky finish and well balanced hops. I’d say this is a good porter, if you like that style, better than Guiness.

This beer was purchased as part of the St. George "Dragon pack", six different varieties available from the brewer. The nose was a delicious honey and nuts, brazil nut and peanut. It is copper colored with a small white head, with good clarity. The taste fell flat. There were no discernible flavors, with just a very slight hint of hops at the finish. I hope the brewery will rework this beer, because it has potential. I wasn’t terribly impressed.

The nose was a sufficiently strong mix of caramel and mesquite. It poured dark and moderately thick. There was very little carbonation. The taste was not as complex as the aroma would have you believe, nor was it as thick. It was sweet and grassy, with charcoal on the edges. The grassy taste returns well after drinking it and stays. I’d say it was a delicious beer, but I’m a bit discriminating when it comes to imperial stouts.

It had a nice clear golden color, with no head. There was but a faint aroma of cereal grains. The taste was akin to putting a 9v battery to your tongue, stinging and flavorless. I bought it as part of the variety six pack from the brewer at my local grocer. I was impressed by the others in the pack, but this was clearly generic filler. Maybe I just don’t like lager.

The bouquet was particularly strong and fruity hops dominate. The pour lacked any sort of head and was a pleassant red tinted gold. The flavor was well hopped, a bit yeast, and stayed a little too long.
