Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 24C). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L222 13:38. AROMA: moderate malt aroma with a sweet component and grainy and slight toasty-bready/toffee notes. slight alcohol note (peppery). APPEARANCE: ambar color and clear. medium ivory head with good retention. TASTE: malty flavor with medium presence of toasty-bready notes. faint earthy hop presence. medium-low bitterness with a dry finish. slight malt balance, slight alcohol notes (peppery) and faint diacetyl (butterscotch). PALATE: medium body with medium carbonation. slight alcohol warth. OVERALL: an interesting biere-de-garde.

Klar orange farge med høyt hvitt skum. Lukter gjær og litt syrlige epler. Søtlig maltsmak. Kort bitter avslutning.

14th July 2025: 330ml bottle after finishing the 555km North Cuesta MTB race. Seems much fresher than it's previous incarnation, slight improvement perhaps.
1st Dec 2016: 75cl bottle at Granny’s house in Hazebrouck, France. Also on tap at Het Hoek Kerk. Pours clear gold, large white head. Aroma is light herbs, with a sugary sweetness. Taste has some floral elements, honey, yeast.. fairly light in flavour and generally quite light for the strength. Pleasant enough for an afternoon beer, but fails to stand up against others classic BdGs.

Közepes, tömör, tartós hab, rézszínű, szűrt. Karamelles, enyhén konyakos illat. Karamelles, kandiscukros ízvilág pici fűszerrel, enyhe konyakos aromával. Testes, erős, pezsgős szénsavtartalom, enyhe keserű. Kellemes, élénk ízvilágú sör.

F: big, snow-white, good retention. C: pale-gold, clear. A: malt, grassy, bready, marzipan, caramel. T: malt, light grassy, bread, hint of yeast, peach, herbal, medium body, lower carbonation, 8,5% ABV almost is not noticeable, good balanced, 33cl l bottle from Spar in Poperinge 2016.
