4 3 6 3 9 Bottle, shared at July THT, in front of Kwartje. Last time I had this was probably in the ’90s. Clear golden yellow color. Off white head. Aroma’s: fruit, cardboard, perfumey. Retronasal there’s some cork, fruit, sweetness. Flavor is moderate sweet, a bit alcoholic. Medium bodied. I seem to remember this as a decent bière de garde, but this is just a bland strong blond.

From a 750ml bottle on 10/5/2017. Pours a clear light golden with a big fluffy white head. Looks suspiciously like a pale lager. The nose is slight, with some earthy and basement notes. Take a sip and there’s lots of bready malt, some citrus, white grape, and a sharp, ever so slightly sour, lingering bitterness. It tastes reasonably big and you get a bit of booze. The palate is quite slick and syrupy, with average carbonation. Drinkable and consuming a bottle has one feeling rather jolly, but fails to inspire.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Floral, hay aroma. Amber. Thick creamy head,no surprise it’s very bubbly. Bitter - this gradually gains in strength. A hint of sweetness. Malty. Some grapefruit and caramel. Edit: after a gap I returned to the beer and found that the sweetness grew more and more prominent, wiping out the bitterness. Medium bodied. Slick. Lively carbonation. Long dry finish. Was suspicious when I noticed the Les Miserables tie-in, however a good refreshing beer.
